- Representing a client accused of banking, mail, and wire fraud in the Southern District of New York
- Representing a client whose homes have been seized in an asset forfeiture matter in the Eastern District of New York
- Representing a business owner under investigation by the New York State Attorney General's Office's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit for money laundering and drug diversion
- Representing a client accused of attempted murder in Queens and preparing client for his testimony in the grand jury
- Representing a client charged with burglary in Saratoga Springs
- Representing a client charged with insurance fraud in Queens
- Representing a client accused of sex abuse and forcible touching in the Bronx
- Representing clients charged with DWI in Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Nassau, Staten Island, and Westchester
- Representing a client charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in Queens
- Presenting a case to a district attorney's office to commence an investigation regarding real estate fraud
While an assistant district attorney, Mr. Varghese tried over 20 cases to verdict, and handled the following prosecutions:
- the first defendant prosecuted under the enhanced sentencing laws
for those attempting to kill police officers;
- a militant separatist who attempted to shoot a police officer before he
was shot;
- a counterfeiter possessing thousands of forged dollars -- case
worked jointly with the U.S. Secret Service;
- an internet pirate who downloaded and illegally resold over $100,000
worth of software; and
- a narcotics gang which had taken over a city block.
